Privacy Policy

Our Philosophy
Tend was built on a simple principle: your messages are yours, not ours. We designed the app so that we physically cannot read your iMessage conversations, even if we wanted to.
What We Collect
On the Waitlist Site (tend.today)
- Your email address (to notify you when beta spots are available)
- Referral codes (to track who referred you)
- Basic analytics (page views, button clicks) via privacy-friendly tools
In the Tend macOS App
- Local processing only: All iMessage analysis happens on your Mac
- No message content: We never see or store your actual messages
- No cloud sync: Your relationship data stays on your device
- Crash reports: Optional anonymous crash logs (no personal data)
- License verification: Subscription status via Stripe (email only)
What We Don't Collect
- Your iMessage conversations or message content
- Contact names, phone numbers, or email addresses
- Photos, videos, or attachments from your messages
- Location data or device identifiers
- Browsing history or app usage outside of Tend
How We Use Your Data
- Send you beta invitations and important product updates
- Process payments via Stripe (we never see your payment details)
- Improve the app based on anonymous usage patterns
- Provide customer support when you contact us
Third-Party Services
We use these privacy-respecting services:
- Supabase: Waitlist storage (email addresses only)
- Stripe: Payment processing (we never see your card details)
- Railway: Website and API hosting
Each service has their own privacy policy. We chose them specifically for their strong privacy commitments.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of your data (just your email address)
- Delete your waitlist entry at any time
- Uninstall the app and delete all local data
- Opt out of marketing emails (one click unsubscribe)
Email us at privacy@tend.today for any privacy-related requests.
Security
Your iMessage database is read-only. Tend cannot modify or delete your messages. All communication with our servers uses industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.3). We follow Apple's security best practices for macOS apps.
Children's Privacy
Tend is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We'll email you if we make material changes to this policy. Continued use of Tend after changes means you accept the updated policy.
